Questions about ShishaDoc
Who is ShishaDoc?
ShishaDoc is a Melbourne-based shisha brand run by a local enthusiast who tests everything heavily before releasing it commercially. The range covers session consumables — Cerberus Coco charcoal, Wolverine foil, disposable tips and hoses. Whether the Doc is actually a doctor, a unicorn, or something in between is still up for debate.
What's Cerberus Coco charcoal known for?
A cooler burn than most cube brands. That matters for sensitive blends — dark leaf, strong flavours, and anyone whose sessions consistently run too hot. Cooler coal = gentler heat to the bowl = flavour holds longer without scorching. Same coconut-shell base as premium brands, just a gentler heat curve.
What's the difference between the three Cerberus formats?
Shape, position, and use-case. The 26mm cubes fit an HMD basket like a Kaloud Lotus (start with four). The hexa sticks (22×45mm) and finger coals are longer shapes designed for foil and heat screen setups, where the length spreads heat more evenly across the bowl (start with three). Cubes burn hotter-shorter; hexas and fingers run longer.
Is the Wolverine foil also a ShishaDoc brand?
Yes. Wolverine is the branded name for ShishaDoc's foil range. Pre-cut sheets in 38 micron (more heat, less stable) or 42 micron (stable heat, the default for most enthusiasts). The pre-poked versions skip the poking step entirely — holes are optimised for standard bowl sizes.
How many coals should I use?
Four 26mm cubes for a Kaloud Lotus or similar HMD. Three hexa sticks or finger coals for foil or foil-plus-heat-screen setups — the longer shape spreads heat across the bowl better than a single cube would. Adjust once you see how your setup runs; sensitive bowls might only need two hexas.
Where are ShishaDoc coals made?
Like most coconut-shell charcoal brands, almost certainly Indonesia — Indonesia supplies around 80% of the world's coconut coal, and most global brands source from Indonesian manufacturers regardless of where the brand itself is based. The Doc's role is curation and quality control; the raw product is Indonesian coconut husk.
