About MIT Luxury Bowls

MIT is the work of Umit, a solo artisan in Turkey. Every bowl is hand-thrown, hand-carved, hand-glazed, twice-fired, and signed at the base with his maker's mark BK. Production is small-batch by nature — no two pieces are identical.

The clay is a special stone-clay blend fired twice — first at around 950°C, then again past 1240°C. That second firing is MIT's technical hallmark, giving the finished bowl notably high density and heat resistance.

The range covers three shapes. Darkstar — a traditional Turkish bowl with tall walls and a multi-hole base, built for dark leaf and traditional packing. Ashera — a tall, narrow-bored phunnel with a focused heat path, suited to dark leaf and dark-blonde mixes. Mitovation V2 — a wide-bored, hand-carved phunnel with a short profile and broad heat path, suited to blonde leaf and blonde-dark mixes.

Each piece carries small variations in glaze, colour, and carving — the signature of a one-maker workshop.
